6.1 Overview of DNS

Traditional centralized DNS consists of a series of servers that convert domain names (e.g. example.com) into IP addresses, allowing users to easily access websites. However, centralized DNS is vulnerable to censorship and attacks, and also raises privacy concerns.

Decentralized DNS aims to overcome these issues by utilizing blockchain technology and distributed networks. This allows for domain name registration and resolution to take place on a distributed network, improving resistance to censorship and attacks while also enhancing privacy.
